writing our way home

in progress

The herons have returned to the nests, in the tallest trees of the wetlands. Four of them this year, maybe five. The windows can stay open all night. Everywhere we look there is evidence of change, swaths of nature pushing out into the light of the longer days. Crocus and daffodil and iris and tulip. Little bits of life peeking up and bursting through the softened earth.

Spring is here, bird song and morning light and early quiet blooming. The change in seasons feels like an invitation to explore the changes we seek for ourselves.

What sustenance do we yearn for?

What ways of being are our particular truths?

How do we hone our own most exquisite expression?

We want to explore what might happen if we weave together a space to thrive.

We love to do this with words, dropping into the space of poetry and prose, with a heavy dose of freedom, as a way to unearth our longings, our desires, our selves. We want to write our way home to our own spectrum of being.

We crave the unfolding, the softening, the loving inquisition that is required for our personal and mutual flourishing.

liberated lines is a practice in truth-telling. It is the sacred space in which you are free to show up with the words that are longing to be released, to show up with nothing but an open heart and a willingness to tap into your own creative breath. We believe that within you exists a little something beautiful and raw and daring. We believe in you and the power of your words and their ability to change your life and the lives of others. liberated lines is an invitation to dance with creative truth, with commitment to your (he)art, with the freedom of release.

However you define yourself—writer, artist, home tender, mother, sister—we know that you hold the power of creative energy. We offer liberated lines as a space to honor and experience that creative force that is truly yours.

We will provide prompts, support, guidance, encouragement, and accountability. And of course, we will be there with you, diving in, living the compelling, creative energy of opening. We will be there to hold space for the release of your myriad dynamic truths.

BECAUSE EVERYONE NEEDS THEIR VOICE LIBERATED.

Alisha has a gift for holding sacred space, for deep listening, and for seeing the ordinary in extraordinary ways. If she could be anything and do anything, it would be exactly what she's doing now: Being a wife and a mother of 3 living out her creative journey–but maybe with a view of a vineyard from the kitchen window. A summary of herself in a list of textures would go something like this: hand-scraped wood, shiny brass, natural linen, cotton, velvet, leather & lace. You can find Alisha at her website, AlishaSommer.com , and in her favorite playgrounds: Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
